A reframe of Valentine’s Day as more than romance—an invitation to practice big love, self-love, and community care, recognizing joy as an expression of love in daily life.

The commercial holiday tells us that love looks like flowers from Trader Joe’s, fancy dinners, and Hallmark cards. And while romantic love is beautiful, it’s also limiting.

We have the capacity for big love—the kind that extends beyond romance to friendships, community, our world, and everything in between. Love isn’t just about another person; it’s about how we show up for ourselves, too.

Joy is a function of love. It’s an expression of love in small and big ways.

So what if Valentine’s Day was a reminder to enact a core part of your joy plan—authenticity and vulnerability? What if it was an invitation to actively love yourself—all the parts, even the ones that annoy you?

Let today be about joy, about love in its fullest form. Alone, with someone else, or with your community. Because love—real love—isn’t just a date on the calendar. It’s how we move through the world, every day. 💛
