Ever felt like joy is just out of reach? Like it’s something for other people, but not for you—because life is too busy, too hard, too heavy? You’re not alone. But here’s the thing: joy isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Psychologists who study emotions say that joy helps us handle stress, build resilience, and even strengthen our immune system. Joy doesn’t erase struggle—but it expands your capacity to handle it.

But here’s what gets in the way of joy:

🔸 Getting caught up in semantics—“Is this really joy? How do we define it?” You don’t need a fancy definition to know what joy feels like. And you definitely know when it’s missing.

🔸 Doubt—because joy can feel impossible when life is relentless.

🔸 Overcommitment—when every moment is scheduled, there’s no space left for joy.

🔸 Mental roadblocks—anxiety, stress, limiting beliefs, even physical pain can make joy feel distant.

This is where calling in your joy plan matters. My mom always reminds me of something my Aunt Helen used to say: “You have to make your own joy.” That’s what calling in means—it’s intentional, fierce, and personal to you.
