Today in Philly, joy is everywhere! You can’t walk down the street without seeing someone—of all ages and backgrounds—rocking Eagles gear, radiating excitement for the big game. The city is buzzing, restaurants are packed, and laughter fills the air. At first, I was tempted to be a little annoyed by the long waits at our usual Sunday brunch spots, but then I took a step back. I saw families and friends laughing, eating, and savoring the anticipation of what’s to come.

As an Aquarius, I live in this world—my dream world—where I constantly imagine the joy ahead. Science calls this anticipatory joy—the positive emotions we experience when looking forward to something meaningful. Research shows that anticipating joy activates the brain’s reward system, releases dopamine, and can shift our mindset away from stress and negativity. If we can imagine worst-case scenarios, why not train our minds to envision the best?

Anticipatory joy doesn’t erase life’s struggles, but it offers a reprieve—a moment of peace, a breath of hope. And what if those short moments became longer? What if, little by little, they shaped your reality?

This week, I invite you to lean into anticipation—whether it’s a small moment of joy or a big, exciting event ahead. Let it be your reminder that joy is not just something we experience—it’s something we can cultivate. 💛
